Mantis Fists is a blog that hopes to contribute to the blogosphere literate, in-depth reviews in an informal format. The emphasis on “collaboration” is key; anyone can comment, add their two cents, or submit content- hopefully, with an eye for intelligence, relevance, and profundity.
My name is Jeff, another helpless devourer of film and literature and music and art and design. Writing about the forms of entertainment I enjoy helps me and perhaps the reader analyze why we love these essentially simple forms of media; its not difficult to sit and watch a movie, listen to an album, or even read a book- the difficulty comes in exploring how these things can illuminate the way we live and potentially give purpose to our lives.
The name Mantis Fists comes from a warm and scratchy kung fu movie from the 70’s, Mantis Fists & Tiger Claws.
